Frequently asked questions

A little clarity,
before we begin.

Questions about working with AHEG and navigating higher education requirements.

Is AHEG a higher education provider?

AHEG is a consultancy. It does not deliver higher education courses or award qualifications, and is not a university or a TEQSA-registered higher education provider.

Can you help with an initial TEQSA application?

Yes. The engagement can cover feasibility, institutional governance, course documentation, evidence preparation and application coordination. The scope depends on your current readiness.

Does registration also approve FEE-HELP?

No. TEQSA registration, CRICOS registration and approval for Commonwealth student assistance are distinct processes. We help you assess the requirements relevant to your proposed operation.

Can you guarantee registration or accreditation?

No consultancy can determine a regulator’s decision. AHEG supports the quality of its agreed deliverables; TEQSA and other authorities assess applications and make their own decisions.

Do you work with existing providers?

Yes. Support includes registration and course renewals, governance reviews, quality systems, regulatory responses, academic integrity, student safety and ongoing advisory engagements.

How are fees determined?

After an initial discussion, the scope identifies deliverables, assumptions, responsibilities, milestones and fees. Regulator charges and specialist third-party costs are identified separately.

How long will an application take?

Timing depends on institutional readiness, application complexity, evidence quality and the regulator’s assessment. An engagement programme is developed around those dependencies rather than an approval promise.

Can an RTO use the same standards for higher education?

Higher education is subject to its own regulatory framework. Shared systems may help a dual-sector institution, but VET compliance alone does not demonstrate compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework.
